Item Description

0.99 grams of e-platinum (e-gold)

I am offering 0.99 grams of e-platinum.

What is e-platinum? (The following is derived from information on the e-gold website)

e-platinum is an electronic currency, issued by e-gold Ltd., a Nevis corporation, 100% backed at all times by platinum bullion in allocated storage.

Other e-metals are also issued:  e-silver is 100% backed by silver, e-gold is 100% backed by gold, and e-palladium is 100% backed by palladium.

e-platinum (silver, gold & palladium) is integrated into an account based payment system that empowers people to use platinum (silver, gold & palladium) as money.  Specifically, the e-gold payment system enables people to spend specified weights of platinum (silver, gold & palladium) to other e-gold accounts. Only the ownership changes - the gold in the treasury grade vault stays put.

Why am I offering 0.99 grams, rather than a full gram?

e-gold charges a "Spend Fee" of 1%. I will transfer one full gram of e-platinum to the winner's e-gold account, but e-gold will assess a "Spend Fee" of 1% (.01 grams), leaving 0.99 grams in the recipient's account.

How can one determine the value of a gram of platinum?

The webpage www.tinyurl.com/currentexchange (on the e-gold website) provides one source of this information. On this webpage PTG represents Platinum Grams.

Other sources are New York Mercantile Exchange (www.nymex.com/pla_fut_cso.aspx) is and Platinum Price (www.platinumprice.org).

Many websites give the price for a troy ounce. Compute the price for 1 gram by dividing the price for 1 troy ounce by 31.1034768. 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams.

How do you take delivery of e-platinum?

You must have an e-gold account. If you don't have one, you can create one at no cost by visiting the e-gold website (www.tinyurl.com/createAccount).

Once you have an e-gold account, pay for the e-platinum using PayPal. Include both your e-gold account number and e-gold account name in the comments section.

Who may bid?

The winning bidder must
* have an existing e-gold account,
* pay via PayPal (include e-gold account number in the comments section),
* have a confirmed PayPal address,
* pay within 3 days of winning the auction,
* have no unexplained negative feedback.

What is my refund policy?

To receive a refund, the e-platinum must be returned within 10 days of when it is transferred to your e-gold account.
