Today I have on offer a hemiobol of Cleopatra VII. It was minted in Paphos, Cyprus and issued circa 35 BC. This coin is over 2000 years old, and is made of bronze. This coin is from a FORVM bulk lot, whose conditions ranges fair to near fine for the type with a dark patina. I will let you decide. However it must be stated that given the state of the coin, the scan does not quite honor the coin’s appearance in hand. A reference given was ‘Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage 35’. The obverse is a laureate head of Zues. The reverse has on it a picture of Zues Salaminos standing, holding stalks of grain with a star above. Incidentally, part of this statue has been recovered from the same excavations at Curium.
